The Medina boys thumped Colley Stars 2-0 in their week-three outing played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in the country’s Second Tier.
Medina United were unbeaten in the Second Division League before clashing with Colley Stars, who drew their two opening league matches.
Coach Alieu Jagne and his Medina United charges were very strong for Colley Star side throughout the match and created goal many scoring opportunities.
Lamin Ceesay opened the scores for Medina United in the 72nd minute of the match from a powerful header.
Mustapha Jarju scored the second goal for Medina United in the dying minute of the match from a brilliant rebound to dash Colley Star’s hopes of coming back to their feet.
Colley Star reacted for an equaliser but were unable to unlock Medina United’s formidable defence line thus the match ended 2-0 in favour of Medina United.
The win earns Medina United top-spot on the country’s Second Tier table with 7 points.
Colley Stars now occupy thirteenth-place on the Second Division League table with 2 points after three league matches.
