LK coach disappointed with team performance

Abdoulie Njie , head of coach of Latrikunda United, has expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s  performance during their defeat against D.B.O. in their final group match of the 2023/2024 Serrekunda East Sport Development Organisation (SESDO) Africell sponsored ‘nawetan’  played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Friday.

Coach Njie was speaking to Point Sports shortly after his side 2-0 lost to D.B.O.

Asuman Mballow opened the scores for DBO in the 2nd minute of the match before Jalamang Samateh extended their lead in the 69th minute.

“It is football but the performance to be honest was very bad.

I was not the coach during the last three matches they played; I came in as an interim coach, so that is it, but it’s football; we need to take it in good faith.

It’s not only me that is disappointed but the entire community is disappointed with the team.

Yes, were relegated in the league but we still have knockout cup to play we can try there.

‘‘We are going for the play offs and Inn Sha’Allah we will regain promotion.” Coach Njie said.

“We are going back to drawing board and prepare very well, because we have a year to prepare well for play off. So I am very much optimistic that we can regain promotion.”

He noted that Latrikunda is big community with very good footballers, adding that they still need to work hard and come back to Serrekunda East nawettan.

He further revealed that lack of preparation led to the team’s downfall in the nawettan, adding that the team did not have good preparation prior to the commencement of the nawetan.

 He stated that football is either win, draw or lose.

Meanwhile, on the same day Juventus defeated Bijankerr 1-0 victory in the late encounter on Friday.

Alieu Manneh’s lone strike in the 69th minute was all but enough to earn reigning league champions the significant point.  

 Future Bii defeated Cannon 2-0, while Jola Kunda drew 1-1 with Timbuktu

Ebrima Bah and Seedy Colley were on target for Future Stars in the 11th and 78th minute of the match respectively.

 T Central beat RSL Zurich 1-0.

Haruna Colley was on score sheet for T Central during the match.

 Wah Sah Halat drew 1-1 London United.

O Nguma thumped Lions of T.Town 2-0.

Salieu Barry and Yusupha Daffeh were on target for Nguma in 16th and 29th minute of the match respectively.

 Border Bii beat Abuko United 3-2.

Ebrima Barry opened the scoring for Border Bii in the 4th minute of the match before Lamin Senghore score a brace in the match in the 50th and 74th minute respectively.

 Ousman Gibba and Lamin Jawo’s strikes in the 40th and 42nd minute of the match only proved to be a consolation goals.

New Germany drew 1-1 with Magtab Warriors, while Medina also drew with Rangers

 Matches continue in the on-going Serrekunda East nawettan today, Tuesday.3rd October 2023 at the Serrkunda East Mini Stadium.
