They defeated defending champions Serrekunda West female team 8-7 on marathon post match penalty shootouts after regulation time ended 1-1 in a keenly contested final played at the Serrekunda West Mini Satduim on Saturday.
Oumie Camara gave Serrekunda West the lead in the 22nd minute of the match, before centre back Mariama Colley levelled matter for Kombo Central II from a fantastic free-kick.
As champions, Kombo Central II were decorated with a giant trophy and medals.
The national wome’s nawettan football final attracted football enthusiasts, including the deputy mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) Musa Bah and other high profile dignitaries.
Mam Jarra of Kombo Central II received the best goalkeeper’s award, while Alima Dahaba of Kombo Central team was awarded as the leading goal scorer of the nawettan.
The best player of the tournament went to Oumie Camara of Serrekunda West, while Aja Camara of Serrekunda West was awarded as the best defender of the nawettan.
