KM zonal championship: SK East win, Manjai and Bakau share spoils

Serrekunda East over the weekend hammered Serrekunda Central, while Manjai shared the spoils with Bakau in the first-ever Kanifing Municipality zonal football championship.

The East Boys smashed Serrekunda Central 4-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday to secure the vital three points.

Joseph Prierra gave Serrekunda East the lead in the 25th minute of the match.

Captain Abdou Jatta extended Serrekunda East lead in the 39th minute of the match from the penalty spot thus the first half ended 2-0 in favour of Serrekunda East.

Upon resumption of the match, Serrekunda Central fought hard for an equaliser but were unable to unlock Serrekunda East formidable defence line.

Tapha Njie scored third goal for Serrekunda East in the 50th from close range.

Captain Abdou Jatta netted the fourth goal for Serrekunda East in the 77th minute of the match to complete his brace.

Abdou Jatta was awarded Man of the Match following his sterling performance for Serrekunda East during the match.

Meanwhile, Bakau drew 1-1 with Manjai at the Father Gough Sports Complex on Saturday to share the spoils in the Kanifing  Municipality zonal football championship.

Captain Ousman Saine opened the scores for Bakau before Adama Jawo levelled matters for Manjai.

Yankuba Sanneh of Manjai was awarded as Man of the Match following his brilliant performance during the match.
