The Sateyba boys came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with Waa Banjul in their opening league outing played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.
Waa Banjul started the match brightly and launched several goal scoring attempts.
Striker Fallou Njie opened the scores for Waa Banjul in the 9th minute of the match from a brilliant finish.
Brikama United reacted for an equaliser and piled pressure on Waa Banjul defence line, creating numerous goal scoring opportunities but failed to materialise on them thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Waa Banjul.
Upon resumption of the match, Brikama United introduced fresh legs to reinforce their attacking department and dominated Waa Banjul in the midfield, crafting many goal scoring opportunities.
Substitute Sankung Jarju equalised for Brikama United in the dying minute of the match to salvage a point for the Sateyba boys against Waa Banjul in the country’s Elite League.
Meanwhile, Wallidan drew goalless with BST Galaxy FC at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum to share the spoils in the 2023-2024 Baluwo sponsored Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One League.
