Minister Bakary Y. Badjie and GNOC team are in Scotland for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
In their meeting at the Games Hotel in Glasgow, Jaliba Kuyateh, conveyed his support for the athletes and the entire delegation.
Kuyateh wished Gambian team success.
He encouraged Team Gambia to compete with pride and determination while representing the nation at the international stage.
The Gambia High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Fatou Bensouda, thanked veteran kora king for the visit.
"It's an honour for you to visit us, particularly to give honour to Minister Badjie, director and all of us who are here. We are really very grateful. It is a sign to encourage, especially for the team competing but also to show togetherness. So we are very pleased and thank you very much," Bensouda said.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Bakary Y. Badjie, extended appreciation to the veteran musician Jaliba Kuyateh for the visit, adding that it is a pride for The Gambia.
Badjie wished the veteran musician all the best, especially for his musical engagements.
President of The Gambia National Olympics Committee (GNOC), Bai Dodou Jallow, stated that they were very happy to receive Jaliba Kuyateh in Glascow.
"I think your presence here is a good sign for our team. It is really an encouragement for the team. It is already a good omen that we are going to do well," Jallow said.
Jallow described Jaliba as a highly respected and successful Gambian who is internationally recognised.
"So having you, just before we start our games, we believe we are going to dance at the end of the day. We will extend your wishes to the athletes," Jallow said.
For his part, Jaliba Kuyateh thanked Team Gambia and wished them success ahead of the competition.
