Ibou Touray named Salford City player of the season

Scorpions left-back Ibou Touray has been voted Salford City’s Player of the season and Supporters’ Player of the season.

The 25-year-old was awarded the player of the season award by the Greater Manchester based team during their end of the season awards on Thursday.

The former Chester and Rhyl player took the biggest award which was voted by manager Graham Alexander, the management, team and backroom staff.

The Gambian international was also awarded the Supporters’ Player of the Year award.

Born in Toxteth, England, Touray started his career at Everton, having joined the club in 2011. He was closed to joining Liverpool before joining Everton instead.

After leaving Everton, Touray went on trial at Tranmere Rovers. After the trial was unsuccessful, he joined Chester on 13 September 2014.

Touray later moved to Wales in the 2015-2016 season when he joined Rhyl after leaving Chester.

The left-footed defender made 42 appearances for Salford City this season assisting 8 and scoring 5 goals.
