The annual athletics championship is expected to finish on Sunday 28th April 2024.
Over 2000 athletes are expected to compete in this year's inter-school athletics championship.
Speaking at a press briefing at The Gambia Teachers’ Union (GTU) Conference Hall, president of GSSSA, Ismaila Ceesay, stated that this year's inter-schools athletics championship is going to be one of its kind.
Ceesay revealed that the championship would be different from other championships, adding that the number of schools has increased and the number of athletes also increased.
He noted that they normally hosted 400 to 500 athletes in previous years, adding that they are expecting to host about 2000 athletes from 117 schools across the country this year.
He revealed that this year’s championship will have semi-finals and final.
Ceesay stated that they have agreed to remove the issue of banning school.
The tickets price for Thursday and Friday are pegged at D30.
The tickets price for Saturday is D50 and Sunday is D100.
