The Golden FC made a wonderful start to the match by dominating Miami FC in the midfield and the attack force, creating goal scoring opportunities utilized by the rising star Dodou Jarju to net the first goal within the first five minutes.
Miami FC in the15th minutes of the game reacted swiftly for an equalizer and levelled score line thus the first half ended 1-1.
During the second half of the match, Golden FC’s Captain Ensa Jammeh in the 60th minutes netted another goal that triggered Miami FC to reinforce their attacking skills and game tactic to neutralize the scores but failed.
Due to mounting pressure from Miami FC’s strikers on Golden FC defence line, Modou Cham was brought down to earn a penalty in last five minutes of the game that was scored to level scores to 2-2
The Golden FC lead by points and goals in game statistic and Miami FC also received two red cards during their previous matches that gave the former edged over latter.
Speaking to Point Sport, head coach for Golden FC, Yusupha Bah alias Sallah Benz, commended the players for securing a place in the quarter finals of the nawettan, expressing delight over their wonderful and skillful performance during the match. He also thanked the technical staff, fans and supporters for a job well done.
He uttered his utmost disappointment on the referee for awarding unworthy penalty to Miami FC at most crucial time of the game.
“Now that we’re qualified to the quarter final, we will continuously train harder and collectively,” Coach Sallah Benz said.
The draw saw the former Champions, Miami FC out of the 2024 Kunkujang Nawettan and will now hang their boots until next year.
