GFF inaugurates Gambia Premier League interim Board

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Tuesday inaugurated the Interim Board of The Gambia Premier League at the Football House in Kanifing.

The inauguration ceremony of the Interim Board  of The Gambia Premier League was presided over by GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo.

In his remarks, President Bajo reiterated the GFF's unwavering commitment to developing Gambian football.

Bajo thanked members of the newly appointed Interim Board for accepting the challenge, expressing utmost confidence in their collective expertise and capability to guide the transition.

He also outlined the detailed process ahead for developing the league’s strategic business plan.

"The importance of this initiative cannot be over emphasised," he said. "This will no doubt elevate our football to another level in all aspects."

Bajo concluded by wishing the board members a successful and productive tenure.

The Chairman of the Interim Board, Willy Abraham, noted that the establishment of a professional league is long overdue and promised that it would bring immense success to Gambian football.

Willy Abraham expressed his gratitude to President Bajo and the GFF Executive Committee for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him and his board.

Other speakers at the event - including Executive Committee Member John Frank Mendy, as well as Board Members Ba S. Jabbie, Alasana Jobe, Samba Keita and Musa Sise - all commended the GFF for the historic initiative.

They collectively assured President Bajo of their dedication and commitment to meeting and exceeding expectations.

The ceremony was chaired by GFF General Secretary Lamin M. Jassey.

The event was attended by the  GFF Fourth Vice President Sainabou Cham and Executive Committee Members Musa Jammeh, Arret Njie Jah, Ramou Ndow, Modou Jagne, secretary Ismaila Njie, Baboucarr Camara, and Alagie Badjie, senior staff of the GFF, amongst others.
