GFF applauds Bai Malleh on appointment as CAF legend for WAFU Zone A qualifiers

The President and Executive Committee of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has congratulated former Gambian international footballer Bai Malleh Wadda on his appointment as legend for Confederation of African Football (CAF) WAFU Zone A qualifiers currently underway in Senegal.

Wadda, a product of the school’s football program, during his time, represented The Gambia in football, other track and field activities both nationally and internationally.

The 65-year-old was born in Banjul and schooled in The Gambian capital where he played as a goalkeeper and also as a centre forward.

At domestic level, BMW is most prominent for his time at Real de Banjul whom he represented both as a player and a coach.

After returning from further education in the United States, the celebrated multi-talented sports icon, Bai’s, continued his sports career and upon retirement in the late 1980s, guided Real de Banjul to two consecutive league titles, the FA Cup and two Super Cups as a coach.

He returned for a second stint as a coach in 2021 and retired a couple of seasons ago.
