Wrestling Association opens 2022/2023 season

The Gambia Wrestling Association (GWA) on Monday 26th September 2022 officially opened The Gambia’s 2022/2023 wrestling season.
Both sides will be contending for promotion to the country’s top flight league and will fight to grab the vital points in their subsequent matches but their match failed to produce a winner.
Jam City defeated Serrekunda East 2-1 at the National Technical training centre in Yundum to pinch their first victory in the new league campaign.
Gunjur United came from two nil down to draw 2-2 with Immigration at the Real De Banjul Football Academy Field in Basori.
Jam City secured 3 points after one league outing while Gunjur United, Young Africans and Team Rihno are all with 1 point each after drawing their opening league matches. Samger will play against Gunjur United tomorrow, Tuesday at the National Technical Training Centre Yundum at 4.p.m.
The Academy boys will contest to clout Gunjur United to bounce back after slipping to Bombada 3-0 in their opening league match.
The Coastal boys will tussle to punch Samger to land their first win in the country’s second tier following their 2-2 draw with Immigration in their opening league encounter.
