Gambia wrap up 2025 AFCON qualifiers with triumph

The Gambia have wrapped up their 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations qualifier campaign with a victory.

The Scorpions defeated Tunisia 1-0 in their sixth and final qualifier match played in Tunis on Monday.

The Gambia slipped to Comoros Islands 2-1 in their fifth qualifier match before rubbing shoulders with Tunisia, who defeated Madagascar 3-2.

The Scorpions snatched a slender win over Tunisia, thanks to Aboulie Ceesay’s first half stunning header.

Tunisia qualified for the 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations after finishing top-spot in Group A of the qualifiers with 10 points in six group matches.

The Gambia, who failed to snatch qualification to the continent’s biennial biggest football showpiece, finished third-place in Group A of the qualifiers with 8 points after six qualifier matches.
