The Young Scorpions defeated Cameroon 1-0 and Burkina Faso 2-1 in their international training camp in Rabat, Morocco to stretch their muscles up for the continent’s bi-annual cadet biggest football jamboree.
The Gambia U-20 team will lock horns with Morocco in their opening group C fixture on 16 February 2021 at 7 pm before tussling with Tanzania in their second group match on 22 February 2021 at 4 pm.
The Young Scorpions made their debut in the Africa U-20 Youth Championship in 2007 hosted in Congo Brzza Ville where they won bronze medal after thrashing Zambia 3-1 in the third-place play-off.
They qualified for FIFA U-20 World Cup once in their history in 2007 but were eliminated in the second round after slipping to Austria 2-1.
