Gambia U-17 hosts Universal Sporting Boys in warm up tie today

The Gambia U-17 team will welcome Universal Sporting Boys in a friendly match today at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum at 8am.

The Darling Scorpions played series of test matches with Division One, Two and Three league clubs prior to their clash with Universal Sporting Boys, who are preparing for the 2020-2021 West Coast Regional Third Division League season.

Coach Abdoulie Bojang and his boys are currently bracing themselves up for the 2021 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone A U-17 football tournament set to begin on 29 January 2021 in Sierra Leone.

The Sub-regional football tournament will serve as qualifiers for the 2021 Africa U-17 Youth Championship to be hosted in Morocco.

The Gambia won the Africa U-17 Youth Championship twice in their history in 2005 and 2009 respectively.
