Gambia to clash with Algeria in int’l friendly on Jan.1st as AFCON edges closer

The Gambia senior national team is set to clash with Algeria in an international friendly match on 1 January 2022 in Qatar, as the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations edges closer.

The Scorpions will use their international friendly match against the Desert Foxes to prepare themselves fit enough for their 2022 Africa Cup of Nations opening clash with Mauritania on 12 January 2022.

Coach Tom Saintfiet and his charges lost to New Zealand 2-0 in an international friendly game played on 16 November 2021 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Algerians will use their international friendly match with The Gambia to prepare themselves well for their 2022 Africa Cup of Nations opening game with Sierra Leone on 11 January 2022.

Algeria won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations trophy after defeating Senegal 1-0 in a tightly-contested final played at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.
