Papa Gassama amongst 8 African referees to officiate at FIFA World Cup in Qatar

Gambia’s pride and Africa’s best referee, Bakary Papa Gassama is among eight (8) African referees selected for the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar.
Coach Suna Njie has finalised a 20-woman squad that will represent the country at the tournament.
The Gambia will be joined by the new hosts and Liechtenstein in the competition that was originally scheduled to take place in the latter country.
The selected Gambian players comprise of girls from women’s football academies and schools nationwide. The team and technical staff will leave Banjul on Saturday 23rd April for the tournament.
