Gaffer Mariama Bom Sowe names squad prior to Kenya battles

Coach Mariama Bom Sowe has named a twenty-three (23) woman-squad ahead of The Gambia's 2026 Africa Women's Cup of Nations double header qualifier matches against Kenya.

Gaffer Bom Sowe and her technical staff embarked on two months preparations at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum.

The Gambia will be hoping to put up a strong performance against the Kenyans in their first and return-leg fixtures to qualify for their first-ever Africa Women's Cup of Nations.

Coach Bom Sowe need more professional players to reinforce her squad but her request was not granted, adding that she invited only four professionals players for the first and return-leg matches against the Keyans.

Meanwhile, Kenya will host The Gambia in the first-leg fixture on 24th October 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Gambia will welcome Kenya in the return-leg clash on 28th October 2025 at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal.
