Jane Joof, head coach of Gambia Football Federation 1st Division League toppers Fortune FC has expressed disappointment after playing a goalless draw against Elite United in their week-ten fixtures of the Gambian Premier League played at the Late Ousman Saho football field at Yundum on Saturday.

It was a very difficult encounter for both sides as they both created clear cut chances but none were able to convert their chances thus the game ended in a goalless stalemate.

Both Fortune FC and Elite United are yet to lose a match in the league after playing nine matches.

Fortune FC came into the match with the hope of continuing their unbeaten and winning streak, but were forced into the stalemate.

“I am not happy with the result of the game. This was the game we really prepared to win just like our previous matches,” he stated.

He added that they were expecting a very difficult game, noting that it is always difficult when at the top of the standings and playing against an unbeaten team.

“When you are at the top of the table and you meet with team that did not lose a game like Elite United, you expect that game to be challenging.”

Majour Saine expressed disappointment, saying they should have won the game after creating clear goal scoring chances at the dying minutes of the game.

The result has maintained Fortune FC at the top of the table standing with 22 points after ten games, while Elite United sits fifth position with 13 points with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Fortune FC will next face B.K. Milan at Basori on Saturday, while Elite United will entertain Real de Banjul at Basori on Friday.
