Falcons extend lead in GFF 1st Division League

Falcons FC have extended their lead at the top of the table standing in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League after winning their week-17 fixture played on Wednesday.

Falcons beat Real de Banjul 3-2 away at the Live Your Dreams Sports Academy in Basori.

Bakary Touray opened the scoring for Falcons FC in the 2nd minute while new signing Momodou Bojang (Major) registered a brace in the 21st and 23rd minutes to give Real de Banjul the lead.

Ousman Ceesay restored parity for Falcons FC in the 45+1 minute before Bakary Touray completed his brace to earn Falcons FC the maximum three points.

The win extended Falcons FC lead at the summit with 36 points while Real de Banjul dropped to 3rd position with 30 points.      

Elsewhere, Marimoo Pakfood were held to a 1-1 draw by Waa Banjul during a game played at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul.

Pa Omar Badjie gave Marimoo Pakfood the lead in the 65th minute while Edrisa Njie restored parity for Waa Banjul in the 75th minute.

The result puts Marimoo Pakfood on 5th position with 25 points while Waa Banjul occupy 14th position with 16 points.
