Falcons continue lead in GFF 2nd Division League

Falcons FC continued their lead at the top of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League after defeating 2 Infantry Battalion 2-1 in their week-24 fixtures played at the Soma Mini-Stadium on Friday.

The win maintained the Blue Boys (Falcons) 3 points lead with 52 points, while 2 Infantry Battalion also maintained their position at rock-bottom (16) position with 18 points leveled with SK East Bi.

Samger FC defeated Gunjur United 3-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field in Yundum on Thursday.

The victory ensured Academy Boys, Samger close the gap to 3 points with Falcons on 2nd position with 49 points, while Gunjur United dropped to 7th position with 36 points, leveled with Red Hawks and Steve Biko respectively.

Jarra West also beat SK East Bi 4-2 in an encounter played at the Soma Mini Stadium on Thursday.

The win moved the Jarra boys to 13th position with 25 points, leveled with Young African and Bombada, while SK East Bi is languishing at second from bottom (15th) position with 18 points leveled with 2nd Infantry Battalion.

Latrikunda United were beaten 2-0 by Red Hawks in a game played at the Live Your Dream Sports Academy Complex in Basori on Thursday.

The win moved Red Hawks to 6th position with 36 points, leveled with Steve Biko and Gunjur United while, Latrikunda sit 8th position with 32 points.

PSV Welliingara defeated Steve Biko 2-1 in a game played at the Independence Stadium on Wednesday.

The Wellingara-based team moved to 9th position with 30 points, leveled with B4U Kiang West, while Steve Biko sit 5th position with 36 points also leveled with Red Hawks and Gunjur United.  

B4U Kiang West and Bombada played a 2-2 draw in a game played at the Soma Mini Stadium on Wednesday.

The Kiang boys now occupy 10th position with 30 points, while Bombada sit 11th position with 25 points leveled with Young Africans.

Jam City defeated Immigration 2-0 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field at Yundum on Wednesday.

The triumph moved Jam City to 3rd position with 42 points, while Immigration occupy 14th position with 24 points.

Team Rhino and Young Africans played a barren goalless draw in a game played at Basori on Wednesday.

The draw dropped Team Rhino to 4th position with 40 points, while Young Africans sit 12th position with 25 points.
