Falcons beat Waa Banjul to close gap between Real de Banjul in 1st Tier

Falcons FC on Monday defeated Waa Banjul 1-0 in their 25 outing played at the King George 5 Mini Stadium in Banjul to close gap on Real de Banjul in the 2023-2024 Baluwo sponsored Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One League.

The Blue Army boys sit second-place on the country’s Elite League table before rubbing shoulders with the Banjul boys, who are brawling for survival in the First Division League for another season.

Waa Banjul came for revenge against Falcons FC to move away from the relegation zone in the country’s Elite League but lost to the Blue Army boys 1-0, thanks to Lamin Drammeh’s 41st minute strike.

Falcons FC still occupy second-place on the First Division League table with 47 points after 25 league fixtures.

The Banjul based-club must win their remaining five league matches and pray teams above them on the First Division League table slip to stay in the country’s Elite League for another season.
