The Essau based-team defeated Jam City United FC 2-1 in their Second Tier promotion play-off third-place match played at the Live Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori on Thursday.
Ebrima Keita opened the scores for Essau United FC in the 56th minute of the match.
Jam City United FC respond back for an equaliser and levelled the scores through Modou Lamin Marong in the 59th minute of the match.
Nuha Sonko scored the second goal for Essau United in the 76th minute of the match, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Essau based-team.
Essau United FC now joined ASM Athletic FC and Sabi FC in the country’s Second Tier following their slender win over Jam City United FC.
Jam City United FC will now hang their boots until next season after slipping to Essau United FC in their second Division League promotion play-off third-place match.
