COSDA needed only a victory against Brufut to sail to the quarter-finals of the annual West Coast Region zonal football tournament.
Brufut, on the other hand, needed just a draw to progress to the quarter-finals of the 2023 West Coast Region zonal football tournament.
COSDA and Brufut both made an excellent start to the match and launched several scoring attempts.
COSDA opened the scores through striker Omar Jarju in the 39th minute of the match, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Coastal Road boys.
Brufut reacted quickly for an equaliser but were unable to penetrate COSDA’s formidable defence line thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of COSDA
The victory earns COSDA a place in the quarter-finals of the 2023 West Coast Region zonal football tournament.
The defeat saw Brufut out of the annual West Coast Region zonal football tournament.
The Brufut will now hang their boots until next year following their exit from the 2023 West Coast Region zonal football tournament after losing to COSDA in their final Group B match.
