Head Coach of Lamin Zonal Team, Sulayman M. Sanyng, has been cautious, stating that defeating Foni doesn’t mean they have won the 2024 West Coast Region Zonal Football Tournament Trophy.

Coach Sanyang was speaking to reporters shortly after his side’s 1-0 win over Foni in their opening Group B fixture of the West Coast Region zonal football tournament played at the Late Sanna Jatta Memorial Football Field in Lamin on Saturday.

‘‘We worked hard for our match against Foni. We are going with our game plan match by match, ’’ Coach Sanyang said.

Coach Sanyang revealed that their target now is to win their second match against Brufut tomorrow, Thursday, 25th October 2024 at the Strasser Football Field.

‘‘My focus is to play and win our matches. Wining Foni doesn’t mean we are qualified,’’ Coach Sanyang said.

Coach Sanyang pointed out that the competition is not yet over, adding that their match against Foni was their first game in the West Coast Region zonal football tournament.

‘‘You can win your first game and crashed out of the tournament,’’ Coach Sanyang posited.

Head coach of Foni, Ebrima Camara, stated that their match against Lamin was a good game.

‘‘We played very well but conceded a goal from a set piece. We controlled the match and created goal scoring chances but we failed to capitalise on them,’’ Gaffer Camara said.
