Colonel Jammeh unveils manifesto, campaign team as GFF presidential race looms

Colonel Musa Jammeh over the weekend unveilled his manifesto and campaign team in Senegambia, as The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) presidential election edges closer.

Speaking at the unveilling ceremony, Colonel Jammeh stated that Gambian football has travelled an extra-ordinary journey over the past three decades.

Jammeh further stated that Gambian football has experience periods of remarkable successes, moment of setbacks, financial crises, FIFA interventions, international recognisation and historic achievements.

He revealed that Alhagie Ousman Baso Conateh (Fisco), aslo called OB demonstrated passion sacrifice and personal could sustain football during periods of national uncertainty.

Jammeh further revealed that OB's selfless dedication kept Gambian alive when institutional support was limited.

He added that Gabbi Sosseh introduced more structure and corporate approach to football administration.

Jammeh added further that Gabbi's vision for infrastructure, particularly the establishment of FIFA Goal Project and National Technical Training Centre, adding that he reinforced the importance of investing permanent assets that cultivate individual administrations.

He stated that Gabbi's tenure has made meaningful reforms in consultation with stakeholders.

Jammeh further stated that Alhagie Omar Sey has provided perhaps one of the most significant governance interventions in the history of Gambian football, adding that during the periods of institutional uncertainty he demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship restoring order through constitutional reforms, financial discipline and administrative restoring.

He revealed that Omar Sey's leadership laid the foundation for modern governance, transparency and democratic participation with the federation, noting paving integrity and institutional reforms are indispensable for sustainable football development.

Jammeh further revealed that Seedy Kinteh has presided over one of the most memorable eras of sporting success, adding that under Kinteh's leadership, Gambian football has celebrated remarkable achievements in youth competitions and inspired an entire generation of footballers.

He added that Lamin Kabba Bajo has assumed in 2014 and inherited a federation emerging from uncertainty and international setbacks.

Jammeh stated that through Bajo’s steady leadership, strategic planning and institutional discipline were restored as well as confidence with Football House.

He further stated that Bajo's administration has strengthen financial management, expanded grassroots infrastructure, professionalised football administration, advanced women's football, invested in regional football administration and delivered greatest sporting achievements.

Jammeh revealed that The Gambia has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations twice under the leadership of Lamin Kabba Bajo.
