Brufut begins 2023 nawetan season

Brufut Sports Development Committee (BSDC) on Wednesday began its 2023 ‘nawetan’ league season with 24 teams vying for the coveted prizes.

The West Coast Region-based nawetan zone that played its delayed 2022 league final recently aims to complete this season like other zones.

Sateba United opened the nawetan season against Nyafullen during the early game played at 3pm, before last year’s league champions, Ghana Town squared off against Steve Biko in the 5pm encounter.

Wullinkama FC will take on Liverpool today, Thursday, in the early game at 3pm, before last year’s league runners up, King Njie FC take on Jabbies in the late encounter.

Meanwhile, the weekend fixtures will produce intriguing encounters of six games.

AC Milan will battle it out against FC Twenty on Friday in the first game to be played at 3pm, while SC Heerenveen will entertain Sanchaba United in the second game at 5pm.

Justice Stars will square off against Tranquil in the early game on Saturday, while Dumbarton will play Omega in the late match.

Mbajarra and Kenebaring will face each other in the early game on Sunday, before West Side play against California in the late game on the same day.

On Monday, Uprising will take on Lama FC during the 3pm, while Big Apple will play against Allatentu in the late game at 5pm.

The first round of group matches will be completed on Tuesday when Junior Stars take on Fatou’s Prin in the early game, and Villa Park entertain FC Luka in the late encounter.
