Brikama Utd pip Hawks to pile pressure on Real in 1st Tier

Brikama United on Wednesday defeated Hawks 2-0 in their week-14 tie played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau to mount pressure on league leaders Real de Banjul in the 2021-2022 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One League.

The Sateyba boys were occupying third-spot on the country’s elite league table with 22 points before their game with Hawks, who sat second-place on the First Division League table with 23 points.

Brikama United came for the significant points to pile pressure on league leaders Real de Banjul.

The Sateyba boys netted two excellent goals in the match without Hawks responding to clutch the vital three points.

The victory earned Brikama United second-place on the country’s Premier League table with 25 points.

Hawks dropped to third-place on the First Division League table with 23 points after slipping to Brikama United.

Meanwhile, Marimoo thumped Waa Banjul 2-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau to climb to 9th place on the country’s elite league table with 17 points.

Waa Banjul dropped to 6th spot on the First Division League table with 20 points after losing to Marimoo.
