Brikama and Kombo East were both keen to clasp the vital three points to maintain their unbeaten run in the annual West Coast Region football tournament.
Kombo East opened the scores through Ebrima Fatty in the 13th minute of the match from a wonderful strike.
Brikama responded back for an equaliser and levelled matters through wing wizard Baboucarr Janneh alias Morata in the 17th minute of the match.
Powerful striker Kalilu Jarju scored the second goal for Brikama in the 41st minute of the match thus the first half ended 2-1 in favour of Brikama.
Upon resumption of the match, Kombo East introduced several fresh legs in order to level the scores but were unable to penetrate Brikama’s formidable defence line.
Captain and midfield maestro Baboucarr Kebbeh netted the third goal for Brikama after the interval from an excellent free-kick.
Kombo East reacted quickly for an equaliser and crafted a few goal scoring opportunities but failed to materialise on them thus the match ended 3-1 in favour of Brikama.
The win earns Brikama top-spot in Group B of the 2023 West Coast Region football tournament with 7 points after winning two matches and drawing one.
