Africell triumph over PURA in Stakeholders’ tournament icebreaker

Africell on Sunday defeated Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA)1-0 in the opening match of the 2025 Stakeholders’ football tournament played at the at the Zico Football Field, Brusubi Phase Two.

Sarjo Ceesay scored for Africell in the 76th minute of the match from a fantastic free-kick.

The kicked off for the opening match was taken by CEO of Africell Haissam Abass.
According to PURA, the tournament is aimed at fostering strong relationship understanding among participating institutions.
Speaking on behalf of director general, the director of ICT at PURA, Rodine S. Renner, stated that the tournament marks another landmark event as the second edition of the tournament kicked off.

He stated that the tournament was organised to promote cordial relationship among sector under PURA.

Renner further stated that tournament would enhance team spirit, social wellbeing and good health and increase collaboration and understanding among staff in the execution of their duties.
" I implore each and everyone to make a point of duty in his/her own way to make sure this second edition is a successful," Renner said.
Renner added that the authority would undoubtedly continue to contribute its maximum quota as usual.
"We believe this type of bonding is unique both personally and at institution levels as it aims to reinforce the unity and collaboration we aspire across the regulated sector,” Renner said.
Renner thanked all participating institutions and organising committee.
Meanwhile, the media team will today 20th May 2025 clash with Gamtel\Gamcel at the Zico Football Field, Brusubi Phase Two at 4.30pm.

On Wednesday 21st May 2025, INET will play against Castle Oil at the same venue at 4.30pm.

On Thursday 22nd May 2025, Oryx will take on Net Page at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium at 6pm.

On Friday 23rd May 2025, Unique Group will rub shoulders with GNPC at the same venue at 6pm.
