2nd Division: Medina Utd record remarkable performance in debut season

Medina United FC have recorded a remarkable performance in their debut season in the country’s Second Division League. 

The Medina United boys progressed to the semi-finals of the FF Cup, a major domestic cup competition following their penalty shootouts win over Waa Banjul after regulation time failed to produce a winner in their quarter-final match.

Medina United FC came to being in 2021.

 The team was established with the aim of providing a platform for young footballers in the area to showcase their talents.

This is Medina United FC’s first season in The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Two League.

 Medina United have already impressed with their performance on the pitch.

The Medina United sit 8th position on the Second Division League Table with 35 points after 27 league matches.

Medina United FC's most notable achievement this season has been their spectacular run in the FF Cup Competition.

 The Medina United defeated several higher-ranked opponents, including Hart FC, Brikama United and Waa Banjul FC to reach the semi-finals of this year’s FF Cup Competition.

The Medina United will face Steve Biko FC in the semi-finals of the FF Cup after defeating Waa Banjul 5-4 on penalties in their quarter-final match.
