Papa Tamsier was more than just a son; he was a beacon of light in his family and the Kotu East community, radiating warmth, kindness, and love. At the young age of 35, he left us far too soon, but his impact will be felt for years to come. He was deeply loved by his parents, whom he adored, respected, and cherished with all his heart. Their bond was one of mutual admiration and deep affection, and Papa’s dedication to them was unwavering.
His humility, compassion, and ever-present smile made him a cherished friend to all who knew him. Papa Tamsier had a special way of connecting with people, young and old alike. The youths in the neighborhood looked up to him, not only as a peer but also as a mentor who led by example. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, to offer words of encouragement, and to share in the joys and challenges of life with those around him. His relationship with the elders of the Kotu community and beyond was equally special, as he treated them with the utmost respect and care, always mindful of the wisdom they imparted.
Papa Tamsier was also a devoted Muslim, a man of faith who lived by the teachings of Islam. His commitment to his religious duties was evident in his regular attendance at the Kotu East Mosque, where he was a familiar and respected presence. Every Friday, without fail, he would attend Jumma Prayers, joining his fellow worshippers in devotion and reflection and most importantly holding the offering box for contributions towards the welfare of the mosque by worshipers. His humility in worship and his reverence for the mosque’s community which was stated by the Imam were deeply admired by those who prayed alongside him.
Beyond his devotion to prayer, Papa’s involvement in the mosque extended to acts of service. He was always willing to contribute to the upkeep of the mosque and its activities, playing an active role in maintaining its sanctity and welcoming atmosphere. His service to the mosque and the community will be remembered as a testament to his character, quietly doing what needed to be done with humility and grace, never seeking recognition, but always making a difference.
Papa Tamsier’s passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, yet his legacy of kindness, humility, and compassion lives on. His ever-present smile, his willingness to help others, and his steadfast faith in Allah will forever be cherished in our memories.
Today, as we mark the seventh day since his departure, we gather to honor his life and pray for his soul. The recitation of the Holy Quran in his name will take place at 17:00 PM at the family residence, organized by his childhood friends from the neighborhood. These young men, who shared countless memories and experiences with Papa, have come together to ensure that his legacy is honored through prayer and reflection. May Allah reward them abundantly for their efforts, and may their actions inspire others to continue to uphold the values that Papa embodied.
We pray that Allah Subhanna Wa Ta’ala grants Papa Tamsier the highest place in Jannah, where he may dwell in eternal peace and joy. May his grave be a place of light, and may his good deeds continue to bear fruit in this world and the next. We also pray for strength and patience for his parents, Alhaji Kebba Tamsier N’jie and Ajaratou Betty N’jie, and for all his loved ones as they navigate this difficult time of grief.
Let us all come together in prayer, making special Duas for Papa Tamsier’s soul. May his spirit find peace, and may his legacy of kindness and faith continue to inspire us all.
With love, prayers, and deepest condolences,
Brother Solomon
