This creative masterpiece comes after years of his experience in The Gambia as a teacher and educational administrator.
The book was launched by Dr. Felix Oyejide Omotosho, a professor of Political Science at the University of The Gambia at a ceremony held at Joint Officers Mess in Kotu.
The book of 122 pages with 22 chapters, is the fourth book to be authored by Great Akah Ottuduoma between 2016 and 2021.
His first literature work is titled: ‘Key and Skills to English Language Proficiency’ which was written to aid non-native speakers of English language to master the art of speaking good English and succeeding in their examinations and work places. The second one is titled: Communication Skills for Managers and Administrators; this was specifically designed for senior managers and administrators to enhance official communication in everyday challenges.
News Writing Formula for Journalists is the third masterpiece, mainly to help media practitioners to excel in media coverage and reporting.
Dr. Felix Oyejide Omotosho, who reviewed the book, described the author Great Akah Ottuduoma as a frontline political arithmetician, a strategist and a thinker by nature.
“However, it takes a closer relationship with him for one to detect these astute qualities of the young man. Despite these endowments, Great Akah Ottuduoma is a very humble but radical innovator and progressive minded,” he said.
Dr. Omotosho explained that the author falls in the categories of genius in terms of his linguistics mastering and manipulation of words to suit subject matters irrespective of disciplines.
He added that Mr. Great, who has already written four books, only exemplifies the high spirit of hard work and commitment to succeed in life.
Great Akah Ottuduoma said the background he came from gave him the inspiration to become a writer.
“My source of inspiration started after I studied English language and also tried to develop myself in terms of association and the people I meet. This is also coupled with the fact that I love teaching and it is expected that a good teacher will be able to translate what you teach to print,” he said.
According to him, the book aims to teach readers that a leader is not just limited to one who is a president, governor amongst others in the country but instead in every capacity of life one is a leader.
Short bio
Great Akah Ottuduoma studied and obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in English and Literary Studies at the Benue State University in Nigeria.
He also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in International Relations and Politics and another Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Criminology respectively.
Mr. Great as he is fondly called has earlier worked at the Professional Development Department of Gambia Technical Training Institute GTTI as Senior Lecturer from 2011-2016.
He later joined Stratford College of Management as head of Mass Communication Department, Coordinator of Studies and rose to the position of Registrar of the college before retiring to set up his own institution in 2018.
He was also a visiting Lecturer at West African Insurance Institute as Communication expert within the same period.
Great Akah Ottuduoma is the proprietor of Kairaba Institute of Administration, which he founded in 2018 with a Gambian.
He is also the Secretary General of The Nigerian Community in the Gambia.
In terms of social relationship and interconnectedness, Great Akah Ottuduoma cuts across Nigerians and Gambians that he commands an enviable influence within his associates.
In the Nigerian community socio-cycle, one wonders if he is of Igbo, Yoruba or Edo or other tribes as he serves across despite where one comes from.
