The gesture included the donation of a cheque of D50, 000 for the upkeep of the Serrekunda General Hospital Mortuary. The generous donations were from Ahmad Ghanim Diab, the proprietor of Emporium.
Speaking at the occasion held at the Kanifing General Hospital, the benefactor, Mr Diab stated that he tries all possible ways to keep secretwhen and where offers help. He pointed out that Muslims are all brothers and sisters and they should help and stand by each other.
He assured that he has instructed his children to continue his benevolence as a legacy even when he is no more.
The Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Basiru Drammeh thanked the donors and assured them that the items will reach all beneficiaries.
He explained that his coming to the hospital last year coincided with the Foundation executing its annual donation to the hospital, adding that he realised that it is not only the Kanifing General Hospital that benefits from the donation but all government hospitals in The Gambia.
He thanked the Foundation and Ahmad Ghanim Diab for choosing Kanifing to be the main center where the donation is made.
Pipeline Mosque Foundation 2nd Vice President, Alh Badou Faye stated that they are doing what Allah has enjoins them to do. He thanked Mr Diab for the generosity. He revealed that Mr Diab has been doing the gesture for the Pipeline Mosque Foundation for the past thirteen years.
