The General Secretariat of the OIC further commended the efforts of the UN and its Special Envoy to Yemen. It expressed hope that the truce would help alleviate the humanitarian suffering of Yemenis and provide best conditions to the Yemeni parties to the conflict to de-escalate the situation and reach an all-inclusive political settlement of the situation that would bring peace, security and stability to Yemen and the region.

Jeddah, 2 April 2022 The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the announcement by the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, that the parties to the conflict have responded to a UN-brokered two-month truce whereby they have accepted to halt all offensive military operations inside Yemen and across its borders.
