In a statement, the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Claudiana Cole, called on people to celebrate the role of teachers, who tirelessly shape the minds and hearts of our future generations.
“We must continue to prioritize education in our budgetary allocations, ensuring that resources are channeled towards recruiting, training and retaining talented educators.”
She equally called on stakeholders to ensure continuous learning and development opportunities for teachers as they are vital.
“We must equip them with the tools and skills needed to navigate a rapidly evolving educational landscape. Teachers deserve our utmost respect and admiration. Let us celebrate their dedication and sacrifices, by acknowledging the pivotal role they play in shaping our society.”
Basic Education minister observed that teacher shortage knows no borders and that MoBSE will continue to partner with sister ministries such as MoHERST and other relevant stakeholders in education to address shortages where they are most acute.
