According to the prosecution, on count one the accused on the 12th November 2024 at Anti -Crime Unit located in Banjulinding in the West Coast Region around 4am willfully and unlawfully damaged or destroyed the ceiling iron roof of the station cells, thereby committed an offence.
Count two further stated that Ebrima Drammeh on the 12th day of November 2024 at Anti-Crime Unit base in Banjulinding around 4am onwards, while under lawful custody of police officers, escaped from such lawful custody, thereby committed an offence.
The accused, however, denied the charges levelled against him, when the charge sheet was read.
At that juncture, the prosecution applied for an adjournment and objected to the accused being granted bail on the ground that he has another pending trial before another court.
Meanwhile, the presiding Magistrate observed that the accused was visibly limping as a result of injury he sustained on his leg and ordered the prison authorities to ensure that the accused has access to medical treatment while in detention.
The case has been adjourned to 12 December, 2024.
