Momodou Sarr made this revelation recently during nationwide visit by Minister of Public Service (MoPS), Baboucarr Bouy and team to Programme for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) project intervention sites.
Sarr maintained that the money generated from their tractor services from December 21, 2021 to January 2025 as follows: D886, 150.00 for fuel, D246, 365.00 for tractor maintenance cost, monthly salary for operator D140, 000.00, development D640, 400.00.
“The total amount of the above mention expenditures stands at D1, 912,915.00, while a total of D1, 299,124.58 is currently in our Bank Account,” he added.
At Koli Kunda and Kerr Jain project sites, Kerr Ousman Busso and Yonna Angalleh respectively, Sarr expressed joy for the timely intervention of Government in providing them with portable drinking water, farming implement and electricity within their door step.
Reacting to the development, Baboucarr Bouy, Minister of Public Service, (MoPS), described Kerr Wally community’s leadership as a genuine leadership, saying ‘if they don’t have genuine leadership, they can’t generate the amount of money they mentioned above.’
Minister Bouy thus urged the PACD beneficiary communities in NBR and the country in general to emulate the good leadership example of Kerr Wally, if they want to sustain their project.
“Programme for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) is part of President Barrow’s development project and the amount of money Kerr Wally community generated from their tractor services is something to be reckoned with.”
Permanent Secretary, Pateh Jah and Deputy Chief of Staff, Alieu Loum both commended Kerr Wally for having leadership that are serving the best interest of their community.
“It is only your financial contribution and having good people in the management committee of your project that can sustain your project without which, it wouldn’t be easy to sustain your project,” PS Jah and Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Loum told other communities in NBR.
