The gesture, was made through Hagie Gai Drammeh Foundation for the Physically Challenged. The Canadian family in the past has donated learning, first aid and other health materials to schools and hospitals in The Gambia.
Similarly, Mr Krish Roopnarine and family also presented sporting materials to the Differently Abled People in The Gambia.
Giving a synopsis and extent of their generosity, Hagi Drammeh, founder of Hagi Gai Drammeh Foundation for the Physically Challenged, recalled that earlier Mr Krish Roopnarine and family had sent more than three containers with valuable materials to The Gambia and those were distributed to different institutions.
Mr Drammeh described the Canadian family as one of a kind in view of the fact that they are the ones, who shipped and footed the bill of the items on arrival at The Gambia Ports Authority.
“The only thing we do at our level is to coordinate the process and make sure that the materials reach the targeted individuals and people.” he said.
Drammeh recalled that they recently distributed dozens of wheelchairs to many differently abled people and families.
“In some cases, we take the wheelchairs to the individuals at their homes because of their conditions.”
