BMCH convenes maiden Performance Review convergence

Bundung Maternal and Child Hospital (BMCH) last Saturday staged its maiden performance review convergence since the inception of the hospital. The event was to review its performance for the year ending 2022.

The convergence held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center aimed to accelerate their successes, evaluate their goals, identify deficiencies and challenges to accelerate and reposition to attain organizational goals.

Marie Gomez, a Senior Nurse Officer at BMCH said the event aimed to provide adequate feedback to all their stakeholders and the nation on their facilities’ performance as well as provide data, especially to those at policy level, which may be used to judge future allocation of human and material resources and identify training needs.

Dr. Mamadi Cham, BMCH Chief Executive Officer said it took a lot of energy and time to arrive at this level since he arrived at the Hospital. He added that they have seen a lot of patience improvement.

Dr. Mustapha Bittaye, Director of Health Services and board member for BMCH commended the accountability of the Hospital for the good work they are rendering to the nation. He urged participants to frankly take full participation of the discussions during the course of the review.

Momodou Lamin Jaiteh, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health stated that the occasion was a significant milestone for staff at BMCH.

“We want to see the remaining institutions of the Ministry of Health also organising such reviews and setting themselves targets and working towards achieving them,” he said.
