A watchman was found dead at Tujereng Estate in the West Coast Region under mysterious circumstances.

Mr Bangura is also known to some residents as Abou Trikker. He was on Monday found dead at his place of service.

According to a neighbour, she sent her children to go and borrow a wheelbarrow from Mr Bangura so as to carry her firewood. When the kids went to his (Bangura) place, they found him dead, and came to inform her.

One Mamadou Colley, another neighbour, said he got the news while on his way to a funeral with his wife so decided to return home.

He told The Point that he found the corpse lying with people standing around him crying. He added that he decided to contact the personnel of the Brikama Fire Station who insisted that medical personnel should first be present.

According to Mr Colley, he managed to persuade them as no one knew when he died.

Mr Colley said upon arrival of the Brikama Fire personnel, they found out that the body was swollen.

"The Brikama Fire Service personnel therefore urged the family members to understand the situation and that there was no need to conduct an autopsy on the deceased, suggesting he could have died a natural death," he narrated.

Mr Colley further narrated that an ambulance was arranged from Sanyang and the deceased was transported to Sanyang where his family lives and was later laid to rest at Sanyang.
