The state counsel in the alleged drug dealer case involving Paulo Djabi and others has tendered the weighment certificate and analytical report of drugs found with the accused persons, in continuation of his evidence in chief before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of the Banjul High Court.

In a previous testimony by a witness Lamin Y.A Sanneh, it was stated that the drugs allegedly seized from the accused in their apartment were weighed and analysed.

Yesterday in court, State Counsel L Jarju presented the weighment certificate and analytical reports for the witness to identify them. And the witness Sanneh recognised the documents and testified that the weighment certificate of the substance weighed were attached together with two identical analytical reports. He also recognised the fact that the documents bear his name and signature.

The witness further stated that the analytical reports were stamped and signed by the scientific officer who conducted the analysis, adding that the weighment certificate and analytical report of the 1st accused, Paulo Djabi, was in respect of MDMA found with him.

At this juncture, State Counsel Jarju applied to tender the weighment certificate and the analytical report as evidence.

When the weighment certificate and analytical report of the MDMA was shown to the witness again to identify, he indicated that the drug was found in the house of the 3rd accused, Mamadu Neto Djabi. Thus, the state counsel further applied to tender those documents into evidence.

The MDMA weighment certificate, which was attached with the analytical report that was found in the house of the 1st and 2nd accused - Paulo Djabi and Nandine Pereira, was also identified by the witness and then tendered as an exhibit.

It would be recalled that the 1st and 2nd accused were charged together on multiple counts including possession of MDMA, a prohibited drug found in the house they were both occupying.

The case was adjourned till 5November this year.
