Presenting the activity and financial reports before the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) Mr. Darboe said the subvention received for 2020 from the government was little over D36 million.
Serign Mass Jallow at the National Audit Office (NAO), said from their review of the financial statement, they noted a negative difference of D3,703,070 between the negative closing cash balance (D1, 196,879) on the Statement of Receipts and Payments.
“The breakdown of the figure in Note 28 was not presented. Therefore, we could not establish which of the two balances is accurate,” he said.
“Unpresented payment vouchers, a total amount of D37,802,761 was recorded as payments in the financial statement. However, 12 payment vouchers totalling D160,850, from the sample selected were not presented for our review.”
He also said they were unable to satisfy themselves if those payments were properly authorised, approved and certified for payment, supported with adequate documentation, correctly classified and free from material.
