A Senegalese national has died in Kerr Sering after plunging from the second floor of an apartment building during a latenight operation by officers of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia (DLEAG), The Point has been reliably informed.

A source who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity stated that the incident occurred on Saturday, 15 August 2026, when DLEAG personnel stormed a residence in Kanifing Municipality following intelligence reports of suspected drug activity. 

Two Senegalese nationals were said to be inside the apartment at the time of the raid.

 

During the search, our source went on, officers reportedly uncovered 'four packets of suspected skunk cannabis concealed in a wardrobe.' 

"One of the occupants allegedly attempted to flee through the balcony but fell to the ground below. He was rushed to Kanifing General Hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him dead," the source claimed.

 

It remains unclear whether additional items were recovered during the operation. 

 

Meanwhile, efforts to obtain official confirmation from DLEAG at the time of going of going to press remain futile.
