The accident happened between Jarra Bureh and Sutukung villages while heading for the burial of Ba Foday Jabbi – an Islamic scholar from Sutukung who had passed away.
Among the causalities include the Kaliph of Madina Sidiya Shering Mustapha Darboe of Nuimi Bakallareh in Upper Nuimi, North Bank Region (NBR).
According to eyewitness, the driver lost control while speeding as one of his tires burst leading to the vehicle hitting a tree on the roadside.
Eyewitnesses have indicated that three people have died on the spot while the other one was pronounced dead at Bureng Hospital.
"The accident involved eight passengers in a private vehicle, four died on the spot and four were injured and are currently receiving treatment from the nearest hospital," an eyewitness said.
