President Barrow reshuffles cabinet in key ministerial change

His Excellency, Mr Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, has effected key changes within his Cabinet, in accordance with Sections 71(1) and 71(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia.

With immediate effect, Honourable Baboucar Ousmaila Joof, formerly Minister for Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, has been reassigned to serve as Minister for Defence.

In a corresponding appointment, Mr Modou Ceesay, previously serving as Auditor General, has been named Minister for Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment.

In a related development, Mr Cherno Amadou Sowe, Director of Internal Audit, has been appointed as Auditor General. Mr Masireh K. Drammeh will now serve as Acting Director of Internal Audit.

These changes form part of the President’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and enhance institutional efficiency across key sectors.
