During his tour, MD Sanyang emphasised the need to get ready for the rainy season by ensuring that the roads built do not contribute to, or cause adjacent properties to flood.
Contractors were advised to engage with village communities to identify flood risk areas along the road and implement the necessary measures to mitigate flooding from surface water which run-off from the road.
“I am overall satisfied with the level of progress, and I urge the project teams to double their efforts after the rainy season to ensure delivery of the projects on time,” said the NRA MD.
The NRA boss Mr Sanyang also took the opportunity during his tour to visit some of the community flood relief initiatives in URR.
NRA collaborates with the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) to provide flood intervention measures to alleviate flooding, as well as facilitate travel during the rainy season.
