
The member emphasised that the common denominator uniting all Gambians is far greater than any differences that may exist.
He underscored the importance of shared goals and the need to reject divisive rhetoric, particularly from politicians.
The member highlighted the harmonious interactions among Assembly Members, regardless of their individual regions or backgrounds, and urged the public to emulate this spirit of cooperation.
“There is no one here who has any hatred for their fellow members here. And that's the reason why I keep telling people, do not allow politicians to separate you because we all work together.”
“And behind the scenes, we are all brothers and sisters. Therefore what we portray when we are together as members, we should maintain that same bond when we get out there to the public so that peace can prevail in this country,” he stated.
He stressed that despite potential differences, the ultimate goal is to serve the interests of Gambia as a whole.
“Whether you are the head of state or not, these positions are time bound. When the time comes for you to leave, it happens and somebody else comes. And the reason I keep saying there is no need for us to be fighting.”
“There is no need for us to instigate anything because it's the same people who bind us together actually.”
He finally underscored the need for Gambians to work together towards a common future.
