Modou Turo Darboe spends over D41M in 2026 Ramadan gifts

Modou Turo Darboe's total expenditure on Ramadan gifts exceeds D41 million. The Gambia's leading philanthropist and businessman revealed this during the last day of his food aid distribution at his office opposite GNPC.

According to Darboe, the Vision Development Foundation distributed food items worth D41,101,382, including bread, diet, tea, milk, sugar, and brown sugar. The foundation also paid scholarships to 11 students and bought 10 cows to help reduce meat prices during the feast.

Darboe stated that the foundation's annual food aid reached all regions of the country through local authorities and National Assembly members. He vowed to continue his philanthropic legacy, inherited from his father, to bring joy to vulnerable people.

Hon. Sulayman Jammeh, National Assembly Member for Bundung, praised Darboe as a national asset, commending his tireless support for the needy. Hon. Binta Janneh Jallow, Councilor of Bakau Ward and Deputy Mayor of KMC, expressed gratitude for the support, acknowledging Darboe's efforts to uplift vulnerable communities.

Other dignitaries, including Hon. Amie Colley, Hon. Omar Darboe, and Hon. Fadi M. Kora, also praised Darboe's generosity, urging him to continue his good work. They described him as a patriot who loves his country and is committed to helping those in need.
