Indeed, there was a parliamentary question on the validity of drivers’ licences to which the Honourable Minister of Interior responded accordingly. When subsequently asked about the possibility of extending licence validity to 5 years, the Minister told National Assembly Members that his Ministry was discussing the idea with stakeholders.
The current licencing regime was approved by the National Assembly and the Ministry of Interior remains committed to progressive reforms for the benefit of Gambians and residents of the country.
